robot

This is a quick mock up of my new robot character...I'm in the process of writing the script..I usually skip that step and write my story through storyboards, but since I'm in a scriptwriting class i should probably write the script...it's supposed to be for a 22 minute episode..but if i ever were to make the film it would probably end up being shorter.....the robot is made up of old and new products..theres a concept behind his creation..mostly a mobile tv...the story doesn't really take place in our universe..maybe a parallel one..where 1930s and 40s designs mix with fancy new technologies....I'll try to keep updating on this if I remember

verizon sucks.

The Kite in the Door

as promised..not that anyones reading this! here is my film strip animation..part of my final for experimental animation class

icarus & the tree herder

this is a background from an awesome student film from calarts..the reason i like calarts so much is because they require students to make a short film every year..i seriously think if rmcad required us to do that, the quality &/or quantity of things being produced here would increase drastically. which is something we need. if rmcad wants to be put on the map, we need to start creating something worth noticing. and i think shorts are the way to do it. even if they are terrible, they're still more appealing than a bunch of tests...calarts also requires students to submit their work to film festivals or shows. as of right now, rmcad is only talking about requiring that...luckily all my motivation and inspiration doesn't come from school. which is why ive created goals for myself...im going to make a film each year and submit them to festivals...ive already done pretty well with that..i have three or four shorts under my belt, all at varying quality, but at least i have that much. which is saying more than most here.

Hats

this is one of my christmas animations i did for my family...sometimes i work with a certain piece of music in mind, other times one just happens to fit perfectly..this is an example of the latter. sufjan stevens makes beautiful music..i don't mind when he sings about miracles from god and such, but his instrumental interludes are just as wonderful and tell a story all on their own.

the kite in the door.

so this is a still from my latest project...all done on film strip...36 feet of it.....i'm workin on optimizing the video for the interwebs and i'll post it as soon as its done.

Sisyphus

this has a great sense of weight and form..both wonderful things.

City Paradise

so this short was in the animation show this year..and besides don hertzfeld's everything will be ok, this was probably my favorite..great mix of live action, hand drawn and 3D..very creative and i dig the poop out of it.

Hospital

i can post my movies on here! neat! so i made this last summer when my mom was in the hospital..i struggled with the ending because i was making it as she was still lying in the hospital..so i decided to give it a happy ending no matter what the outcome..and lucky for all of us, my mommy is now ok.

300.

so 300 opened today. and i saw it. and it was pretty darn awesome...although not the "next step of evolution in film making" as many of the reviews say. but it was pretty cool..here are some pics from the graphic novel i liked
